My name is Novangeli Ncomasa. I am 46 years old and a resident of Zwelihle where I rent an RDP house. I have been involved in hand-made beadwork since 2015. I am married with three dependents, but my husband does not have full-time employment, so I try and supplement the family income in this way. I design the beadwork myself, with ideas from the internet. What I make is sold door-to-door in Zwelihle, Stanford and Gansbaai, as well as to tourists who come to the Youth Café, which is where I have been marketing my products since 2018.
I have applied for this loan so that I can purchase additional beads and materials and increase my range of products. If I can sell more items, then I will be able to employ other people, particularly over the tourist season, to help me with production. With the help of the Siyakha business mentor I am sure I can improve my marketing and increase my sales.
Total loan applied for R1500
This project has been set up to succeed through a careful vetting process together with ongoing mentorship and management. Repayment of your loan will only take place at the end of the loan period (usually 12 months) and not monthly. However, as we cannot give any guarantees, in the unlikely event that the project does fail you will not receive the full repayment of your loan but a pro rata percentage depending upon what portion of the loan has been recovered from the business owner.
