Evas Mugumbate is a Zimbabwean citizen who has been working in Hermanus for four years in an upmarket clothing outlet. She has identified that there is considerable demand for ethnic clothing in the local community and together with her sister, Prisca, wants to start producing clothing for this market. Her sister, who has a passion for fashion and design, is currently unemployed since the hair salon for which she worked closed down. Prisca successfully completed a sewing course at Learn to Earn and is enthusiastic and creative.
“In addition to creating ethnic clothing for the local market we have a unique opportunity to explore the possibility of making cushion covers using animal skins for the local and overseas market. This loan will allow me to purchase a second-hand sewing machine and sufficient stock to get the business off the ground.”
Total loan applied for R3000

This project has been set up to succeed through a careful vetting process together with ongoing mentorship and management. Repayment of your loan will only take place at the end of the loan period (usually 12 months) and not monthly. However, as we cannot give any guarantees, in the unlikely event that the project does fail you will not receive the full repayment of your loan but a pro rata percentage depending upon what portion of the loan has been recovered from the business owner.
