Esmerelda Esau is a resident of Hawston and exudes enthusiasm and concern for her community. She has been operating her take-away and tuck-shop for 18 months; she has secured rented premises near the Hawston taxi rank and has a contract with the school to operate their tuck-shop. While the business is viable she has experienced problems with the reliability of electricity supply, which means that her operations are regularly disrupted. She has made the decision to move to gas fryers and needs the loan to purchase this equipment and to purchase additional stock to meet the demand. She also wants to obtain a card machine, as there are very few ATMs in the area and they regularly run out of cash.
“With a loan from Hermanus Siyakha I will be able to ensure that the business operates without interruption. My vision is to expand my present business and ultimately to open additional outlets that would employ other members of the community. Hawston suffers from high unemployment and I am concerned about the needs of the community.”
Total loan applied for R10000
This project has been set up to succeed through a careful vetting process together with ongoing mentorship and management. Repayment of your loan will only take place at the end of the loan period (usually 12 months) and not monthly. However, as we cannot give any guarantees, in the unlikely event that the project does fail you will not receive the full repayment of your loan but a pro rata percentage depending upon what portion of the loan has been recovered from the business owner.
When clicking on the crowdfunding page you may find that your chosen project is already ENDED. This means that either the project is already fully funded or, that the time available to raise the funds has elapsed. In which case kindly search for another project to contribute towards.
If you wish to donate to the general running expenses of Hermanus Siyakha please return to the Home Page and click on the “Donate to Initiative” button.
