Mkhanyisi Abongwe Cekiso – A healthy body is a healthy mind is the slogan of this wellness and sports programme founded in September 2015 as a response to social challenges in MK’s community of Zwelihle, Hermanus. MK grew up in a family passionate about sport in the village Mackysneck in the Eastern Cape. His mother was an avid netball player and coach. He grew up playing rugby and started realising that sport is not just a talent but it could also be a career. In 2003 MK participated in the ETA (Exercise, Teachers and Training Academy) Sports Coaching and Administration course hosted by the Football Foundation which kick started his career in sport. MK went on to study a Sport Administrator Course, Aerobics Instructor, Sport Coaching as well as First Aid Level 1 at different institutions. MK now runs his Sxolies Aerobics Club & Gym, and boasts a membership of 25 active gym attendees as well as others that he gives personal exercise instruction to. MK requires a loan of R5,000 to purchase material with which to build a bigger space to house his gym equipment to protect it from the elements
Total loan applied for R5000
This project has been set up to succeed through a careful vetting process together with ongoing mentorship and management. Repayment of your loan will only take place at the end of the loan period (usually 12 months) and not monthly. However, as we cannot give any guarantees, in the unlikely event that the project does fail you will not receive the full repayment of your loan but a pro rata percentage depending upon what portion of the loan has been recovered from the business owner.
