Bongiwe Maku was one the first recipients of a small interest-free loan to purchase additional stock for her clothing business. Despite the economic downturn her business has done well and she has managed to repay the full amount of the loan in the agree period.
She is now applying for a loan as she wishes to branch out into catering. Her intention is to use this loan to purchase a 3 plate-stove and commercial-size pots for large-scale cooking. This equipment will be stored in a 3m x 3m shed which she will purchase, and the equipment will be rented out to a church over weekends. “On weekday afternoons I will use it to cook and sell homemade Vetkoek in the community.
Total loan applied for R6,000
This project has been set up to succeed through a careful vetting process together with ongoing mentorship and management. Repayment of your loan will only take place at the end of the loan period (usually 12 months) and not monthly. However, as we cannot give any guarantees, in the unlikely event that the project does fail you will not receive the full repayment of your loan but a pro rata percentage depending upon what portion of the loan has been recovered from the business owner.
