Nomandla Nkofunga – Nomandla unfortunately lost her job a couple of years ago and decided to start baking muffins and scones from home, to sell in Zwelihle. She and her partner, Pakiso, get up at 4am most mornings to start baking the first batch of the almost 240 muffins and scones she bakes every day, in her small table-top oven. They then hit the road and walk through their community selling their home bakes to the people. Nomandla requires a loan of R5,000 to purchase a bigger floor standing oven, thus improve her efficiency by increasing the number of muffins and scones she can bake at one time which in turn provides her with more stock to sell.
Total loan applied for R5000
This project has been set up to succeed through a careful vetting process together with ongoing mentorship and management. Repayment of your loan will only take place at the end of the loan period (usually 12 months) and not monthly. However, as we cannot give any guarantees, in the unlikely event that the project does fail you will not receive the full repayment of your loan but a pro rata percentage depending upon what portion of the loan has been recovered from the business owner.
