Richard Jojo Banson was born in Ghana and studied in the Netherlands where he met and married Denise, a South African. Returning to South Africa he engaged in a number of small business ventures but was faced with problems of insufficient capital and resistance, due to his background. Not to be deterred he started preparing genuine West African cuisine and selling food at one of the Saturdays markets as well as supplying a number of guesthouses. When he was presented with the opportunity to operate a permanent West African food stall at the new Alley Market opening on 1st December he seized the opportunity and signed a lease. He has basic equipment but needs the loan to purchase additional essential items to enable him to provide a professional food service.
Total loan applied for R10000
This project has been set up to succeed through a careful vetting process together with ongoing mentorship and management. Repayment of your loan will only take place at the end of the loan period (usually 12 months) and not monthly. However, as we cannot give any guarantees, in the unlikely event that the project does fail you will not receive the full repayment of your loan but a pro rata percentage depending upon what portion of the loan has been recovered from the business owner.
