Samela hails from the Eastern Cape, and is a single mother of two children. She has been involved in the catering and food industry for many years, in and around the Hermanus area. She was employed as a waitress, and later as a chef, at the Marine Hotel in Hermanus. Samela then decided to opened her own restaurant, renting premises at the popular Verona’s Tavern in Zwelihle and using their restaurant equipment. She was very successful and had a large clientele, but unfortunately, after about 8 months, the landlord decided to close down her business. Samela wants to re-open her food sales business with a loan of R10,000, which will enable her to purchase her own food trailer which she plans to park at the taxi rank in Zwelihle, and move it around as demand dictates. Samela is very energetic and has a passion for serving her customers good home cooked food made from freshly sourced ingredients.
Total loan applied for R10000
This project has been set up to succeed through a careful vetting process together with ongoing mentorship and management. Repayment of your loan will only take place at the end of the loan period (usually 12 months) and not monthly. However, as we cannot give any guarantees, in the unlikely event that the project does fail you will not receive the full repayment of your loan but a pro rata percentage depending upon what portion of the loan has been recovered from the business owner.
